Since moving to Bed Stuy two years ago, a new and promising farmer's markets have popped up right in our neighborhood. I recently found out that there is a Bed Stuy Farm that needs some help. Sign the petition!
I've been enjoying the Bedford-Stuyvesant Youthmarket on Lewis Ave for the past two years, and the Hattie Chatham market seems pretty exciting as well. In addition to the Bed Stuy Farm Share (CSA), the neighborhood seems to be getting richer and richer in terms of fresh local organic healthy worthwhile food!
So I was saddened to hear that the Malcolm X Market isn't doing too well. I just wanted to spread the word here in the hopes that more folks can support these efforts and keep local farmers in Bed Stuy, an area that has its share of big box stores but not much in the way of great produce. It seems there is a lot of coverage in the blogosphere, but here's another call for help.

Official reaching-the-limits day. Read things, can't remember what.
