  • Bicycle Diaries. I like that we end up back in NYC at the end of this book, with some familiar groups like Transportation Alternatives.
    • Why people feel that driving a car makes one independent minded is a mystery to me.--I kept thinking about this this last week, cars and buses littered throughout the city...
    • I have come to accept that things aren't going to change overnight, but that this event might be more about bringing a lot of disparate folks together at an opportune moment. It might serve as a kind of tacit encouragement, a visible acknowledgment that change is possible, maybe even likely, and that bike riding as a means of transportation in New York City might be okay--if not now, then certainly in the very near future.
