“If I didn't define myself for myself, I would be crunched into other people's fantasies for me and eaten alive.”

  • Bicycle Diaries. I wasn't kidding about reading just a page/day.
  • Blindness, by José Saramago. His writing is so clear, so crisp. Just what's needed on a rainy December day.
  • I just remembered I saw Jonathan Safran Foer's new book,Tree of Codes, when I was at that art bookstore in Williamsburg last. Why hasn't there been more hype about this mass-produced artists' book? Reminds me of A Humument, and also things that Audrey Niffenegger gets to mass produce now that she wrote some best-selling novels (hooray for accessible book art!).
